WHAT IS SAWYER YARDS?

Sawyer Yards is a creative campus in the heart of Houston with the largest concentration of artists in Texas. Over 400 artists and creative businesses in six restored warehouse buildings, across 55 acres, call Sawyer Yards home. With artists' studios, restaurants, breweries, fitness concepts, and entertainment venues, Sawyer Yards is a true destination for our city.

SECOND SATURDAY

On the second Saturday of each month, the artists of Sawyer Yards open their studios to the public from 12-5pm. Spend the afternoon wandering through six repurposed warehouses and discover an extensive selection of painting, sculpture, jewelry, photography, clothing, textiles, printmaking, mixed media, and more. Meet the artists, learn about their work, and add a new piece (or two!) to your collection. Second Saturday is a free event and open to the public, so bring your friends!

MANAGEMENT

Sawyer Yards Management handles events, exhibitions, programming, and marketing for the campus.

Deal Co. is property management for The Silos, Winter Street Studios, Sabine Street Studios, Spring Street Studios, and Summer Street Studios.

EVENTS

We're here to support your events!

All events should benefit Sawyer Yards by offering public/community engagement, increasing traffic for our artists, and generally bringing awareness to the host building and Sawyer Yards.

Examples of Tenant Events: new studio receptions, classes, workshops, lessons, collector events, etc.

EXHIBITIONS

The goal of the exhibitions program across the Sawyer Yards campus is to showcase the work of tenant artists and to engage with the greater arts community and the general public by creating and scheduling a diverse range of exhibitions also featuring local and regional artists. Beyond cycling tenant exhibitions in the corridors, the galleries are divided between solo showcases, small group exhibitions, and periodic larger exhibitions such as juried shows, and those funded by outside organizations. Almost all exhibitions are decided on a proposal-basis, though some are directly curated or by invite.
